After one false start (1.6 metres fresh snow in Zermatt so we bravely ran away for 4 days) O2e Haute got off early Sunday 3rd May leaving Argentiere at 5.30am and had a total nightmare arriving at Trient Hut after 11 hours of constant climbing, completely dehydrated and sun burnt.
Monday brought some light relief as we skied down to Champex and picked up our bikes for the novelty ride up to Verbier
The days got slowly better as we began to acclimatize and have to say we were almost starting to enjoy it, although the state of John & Peter's feet and shins were a source of amusement to many at the overnight huts!
By day 5 we were moving up the grid and arrived in great spirits on the biggest climb to 4000 metres of Monta Rosa and day 6 saw the welcoming site of The Matterhorn (see attached) and at last some downhill as we cruised into Zermatt
This was a great challenge which took all of us out of our comfort zones as we climbed and skied our way through the 100+ mile adventure. The constant threat of avalanche was high (and visual) because of huge snow falls and very warm temperatures we had to put of faith in our guide and keep the mind occupied (easy for Johnny). We have been left with life long memories, huge congrats to old school buddies Johnny (if you have time read Johnny's review attached) & Peter and thanks to them this was such a memorable experience-really sorry for Mark who had to pull out at last minute because of changes and work commitments

Hi
Can anyone tell me how to get involved with O2E? I tried emailing the contact address but the mail bounced.
Thanks
Matt
Matt
hopefully by now you will have received a return e-mail. Please confirm that is the case
